God is Spirit
“God is Spirit and those who
worship him must worship in
spirit and truth” - John 4:24
Don’t ever think the word spirit
means ghostly or invisible. God
most definitely has a visible
form. The Holy Spirit is so
glorious and so indescribable.
The Holy Spirit lives within us.
Just as surely as our Lord is
Spirit; Our Lord is love. Love
is not only something God does
it is who God is. So that who we
are once we have accepted the
Lord as our personal Savior, we
are love and the Spirit lives
within us.
How do we treat the temple of
the Holy Spirit?
“Only in regard to the throne
will I be greater than you” -
Genesis 41:40
I
am accountable to God for the
way I control my body under his
authority. Every Christian can
have his body under absolute
control for God. What I must
decide is whether or not I will
agree with my Lord and Master
that my body will indeed be his
temple. Once I agree all the
rules, regulations and
requirements of the law
concerning the body are summed
up for me in this revealed truth
– my body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit.
Put God First!
Jesus did not commit himself to
them…for he knew what he was in
man. - John 2:24-25
Our Lord never put his trust in
any person. He put his trust in
God First. He trusted absolutely
in what God’s grace could do for
others. If I put my trust in
human beings first, the end
result will be my despair and
hopelessness toward everyone. I
will become bitter because I
have insisted that people be
what no person can ever be,
absolutely perfect and right.
Never trust anything in yourself
or in anyone else, except the
grace of God.
Our Work is God’s Work
Jesus got into one of the
boats…that belonged to [Peter],
and asked him to push off a
little from the land. - Luke 5:3
Jesus claims Peter’s boat. He
doesn’t request the use of it.
Christ doesn’t ask permission,
he doesn’t have to; he boards
the boat and begins to preach.
He can do that, you know all the
boats belong to Christ! Your
boat may be your car, your
house, the store you manage.
Jesus says, to all of us let
your light shine. Where ever you
are whatever you do give God the
honor and glory, because without
him we have nothing. |
